Wayne Bucklar
Wayne Bucklar started his computing career while with the Education Department in 1984, just a year after the Personal Computer was launched. He says it was entirely accidental, but he quickly became fascinated with the possibilities for businesses to use computers. He set about understanding the business technology story.
In 1992, the WWW was released in Australia and Wayne was one of its first commercial users. The pace of the story quickened and by 1999 he was running the largest commercial web development operation in Australia prior to his stint in academia.
In 2005, he resigned from his former role as a full-time Lecturer in Electronic Commerce in the MBA program at the Brisbane Graduate School of Management, Queensland University of Technology and dropped back to part time lecturing to focus on the establishment of technology company Truecom Pty Ltd as their founding CEO.
Now back in the Private Sector, Wayne is a Director of Truecom Pty Ltd and E-Business Strategies Pty Ltd, as well as a board Consultant with the Professionals Real Estate Group and the Queensland Audit Office. He hosts a weekly ABC Radio 612 segment, and is commentator on their breakfast show and for ABC TV2.
